While on the way back from our morning departure several reports were coming in regarding other whales. We chose to view 3 Transients closer to home this time: T74 and family. We left the whales for last again because this is so often the better way to go, to be fashionably late on scene as to be one of a handful of boats as opposed to many at the same time. So of course we enjoyed so much more: seals, sea lions, eagles, other marine birds, race rocks lighthouse, rugged westcoast shoreline & a great boat ride. We arrived on scene just off of Sooke harbour and followed these three cetaceans until Sherringham point….still heading west with the wind filling in. I love being the only boat on scene, it s much more enjoyable.
