A single small Humpback Whale east of Sombrio

There have not been any reports of any whales on the network so far today. So went out to the west and had a brief stop and Bentick Island to see some harbour seals we shot to the west and went all the way out to Sombrio searching. We were stopped at Sombrio for a few minutes looking around when Sooke Coastal, picked up a small humpback east of Sombrio right along the shoreline. So we back tracked a bit and spent some time with the humpback whale close to shore at Magdelena. The whale was east bound and then we continued to Race Rocks and had a great stop at Race. Round trip was 100 miles and near the end of the trip it started to get pretty rough we were getting into the 3 and 4 foot waves and the odd 5 foot sea.
