Milling back and forth between Pile Point and Eagle Point
This afternoon we had really strong winds and a strong ebb tide, so really big waves coming around the Victoria waterfront. It was good though as we had a really fun group of passengers on board that were really enjoying themselves. The waves were so rough it was too rough to go through Enterprise Channel so we went around Trial Island and continued on through Oak Bay. We stopped to take a brief look at some harbour seals, but it was just so windy that we couldn’t really see to much as we were getting blown all over the place. So we continued around to the lee of Discovery Island we met up with the L-12′s a family of about 10 whales that were cruising the southern part of San Juan Island just off of Pile Point. So we cruised with them to about Eagle Point, and then they stopped and turned around. We had L-89 and L-41 Mega just cruising along at really steady intervals. We also got a quick look at L-77 Matia with her baby L-119. They were all just milling about going back and forth between Pile Point and Eagle Point. And then on the way home we had a really nice blast through the waves. Couple of good waves that got everyone wet but it more like splash down park roller coaster
