4.5 hr. Whale Watching Tour covering almost 100 miles !!!!

We had an absolutely fantastic tour this morning… We saw lots of Bald Eagles in the Chain Islets, coupled with 50-60 Harbour Seals hauled out on the rocks as it was a very low tide !!! Pelagic Cormorants, Pigeon Guillemots and Black Oystercatchers were also seen throughout the islands. From Oak Bay we traveled East towards the San Juan Islands where we stopped in at Whale Rock to see 15-20 Steller Sea Lions. Afterwards, a brief stop at Long Island to see the massive Eagles nest, before heading North past Friday Harbour on our way up to Spieden Island. We saw close to 100 animals this morning on the South slopes grazing on the long grass. We were lucky enough to see all 3 species: Japanese Sika Deer, European-spotted Fallow Deer and Mouflon Sheep. On the way back home we stopped in at the Cormorant cliffs on Henry Island where we could see and hear the Peregrine Falcon way up on the ledge !!!!! Awesome visual :) As we left Henry Island, one of the Whale Watch boats way to the South picked up some Transient Killer Whales off Iceberg Point, Lopez Island. A quick trip down to Lopez Island and we were soon looking at 10-12 Transient (Mammal-eating) Killer Whales. ID’s included: T124A’s, T86A’s, T49C and others. A short visit with these “resting Orcas” and then we had to head for home as I had another trip to get back for. We saw absolutely everything on this morning’s tour… Brilliant :)
