Private Whale Watch Tour with the T124A’s, T86A’s, T49C and others !!!!
The afternoon trip got off a bit late today as the morning trip ran almost 5 hours !!!! We managed to see 10-12 Killer Whales at the very end of the morning trip. Happy customers as we were the only morning boat to have seen the Whales
For the afternoon departure, we headed directly to the East to Colville Island – Davidson Rock where we picked up the same group of Transients that we had in the morning. The Whales were still all grouped together as they swam quickly to the East towards Whidbey Island/Deception Pass. We pretty much had a private viewing of the animals the entire time we were there !!!! Great viewing conditions as well as it was flat calm out there. The male sprouter, T49C, is going through a really good growth spurt this year, as he is only 14 years old (born in 1998) !!! After hanging out with the whales for 45 minutes we made a quick stop at Whale Rock to see all the Steller Sea Lions and Harbour Seals hauled out on the rocks. From there we continued West to Oak Bay where we encountered a single Bald Eagle on the sign post at Trial Island. Light rain and cloudy skies made for a chilly whale watch this afternoon…. Brrrr..
