Sometimes things just work out: Wildlife tour with Eagle Wing Tours

A wonderful Spring day out on the Salish Sea. With a boat load of eager passengers we headed out in hopes to encounter many wonderful animals and birds but namely the Orca. Two days in a row the industry has been skunked until today! Along the way a feeding frenzy of birds, half a dozen Harbour Porpoise, Steller Sea lions, Bald Eagles..and then the report of Transient Killer Whales seen from the Anacortes Ferry. We arrived on scene with 6-8 whales and while we were on scene we experienced many types of behaviour:
-Spyhoping whales
-hunting on two separate occasion: eating what we think were Harbour Seals,
-high speed traveling,
-and socializing.
AWESOME!! On the way home we buzzed by Speiden Island where there are several types of Big horn sheep and deer that were imported by John Wayne–the Duke! Harbour Seals also along the banks of the island with a few immature Bald Eagles. Time to go now so homeward bound we were. All told we traveled 60 nautical miles and experienced several wonders. Thanks guys for coming out: Hope you had a great time!!!
