We started off the trip by heading South over Constance Bank in search for Humpback Whales that were seen during the previous few weeks… After searching the area we continued out to Race Rocks where we saw lots of Sea Lions, Harbour Seals and 3 Elephant Seals !!!!! Continuing West we stopped in at Whirl Bay at the Eagle’s Nest, where we encountered two mature Bald Eagles soaring above the Bay searching for food. From the Eagle’s nest we continued Westwards towards the town of Sooke, where I spotted a Humpback Whale a few miles Southwest of Sooke Harbour !!!!! After spending 25 minutes with this unidentified animal we traveled South where we stumbled across a very spread out J and K pod !!!!! The animals were foraging as they traveled slowly to the West. Conditions were perfect as we had flat calm water, sunny skies and warm temperatures :)
