June 17th 10am trip with Capt Jeff with Chris on Goldwing

We had reports of whales right off the Victoria Waterfront so we basically came out of the harbour and headed south to Constance Bank where we picked up L pod. All of Lpod in 2-3 nice groups. They seemed to be in a resting pattern as they moved east. We had really nice looks at Mystery, Mega Solstice and Scana all the big boys. And we were happy to see L88 Wavewalker, a whales that we were concerned may have died last year, because L2 Grace went missing as well as L78 Gia. But we did see the 20 year old Wavewalker L88. We followed the whales just south of Trial Island and then we went out to Race Rocks where we saw some seals and sea lions. There was a big elephant seal in the water by the dock and then out to Breecher Bay we followed the shoreline by Whirl Bay where we saw 2 mature bald eagles up in the nest. Back to Victoria round trip of 40 miles, flat calm beautiful day on the water.
